Kabir Sahib's Vani on Magnificence of Guru and Naam

Kabir Sahib's Speech (Kabir Vani) on Magnificence of Guru and Naam

Source: www.spiritual.comuv.com
www.kabirsahib.jagatgururampalji.org

This Vani of Kabir sahib is only applicable on a Satguru (Complete Guru/True Guru)

Kabir Sahib is saying that without the name of God, a king will become a donkey where a potter will make him work endlessly and no one will offer him food (grass).

Kabir Sahib says that you consider Ram and Krishan to be superior but they also made Guru. They were the master of 3 loks (3 worlds - Swarg, Pataal and Prithvi) but in front of a Guru they were humble.

Kabir Sahib is saying here that Sukhdev was doing worship without a Guru and once when he went to Baikunth Lok (Lok of Vishnu ji), because of not having a Guru, he was sent back to earth.

Sukhdev was told that he could not enter Baikunth lok because he does not have a Guru. On returning back to earth, he made King Janak as his Guru and then he became worthy of going to Baikunth Lok.

Kabir Sahib says that those who do not have a Satguru (a True Guru), they go to the door of hell.

In the hell, the messengers of Yam (doot - yamdoot) torment the soul and the soul is unable to free itself from them and then keeps wandering in the four divisions (animals, birds, aquatic creatures and reptiles).

Wandering in these four divisions, a soul never attains liberation. All this wandering can come to an end by the grace of a Satguru (Ture Guru).

Here Kabir Sahib is narrating the magnificence of a True Guru that even if you make ink from the entire water of seven oceans, make a pen/pencil using the wood from all the trees on the entire earth and make paper out of the whole surface of earth, then also one cannot write the properties or qualities of a True Guru (Satguru). It would still fall short.

Kabir Sahib is stressing upon the importance of a Guru and saying that those who did worship as directed by a complete Guru got liberated whereas the ones who were just worshipping the God remained in the circle of life and death.

Explaining further, Kabir Sahib is saying that God and Guru both are standing side by side, whom should one prostrate. One should be grateful to a Guru as a result of which the soul happened to unite with God.

kabir Sahib is saying that if your God has become upset then go in to the refuge of a true Guru but if your Guru has become upset then there is no respite and in that case not even God can help you.

No use of donation and remembering God without the permission of Guru.

Dohe of Kabir Sahib

We used to read these dohas in our texts at school long time ago. At the time it was just something to learn and then probably forget once we moved on to another class. Although it was felt at the time as well that these do have a very deep meaning, but as we all put it, "who was bothered?". Time moved on and life moved on. Recently after revisiting them now and reading other people's blog, on Sahib Kabir, the same spark has been ignited probably in a much stronger way and I have composed a collection here but a bit different to what others have been doing. I have been looking at them from a spiritual point of view and very strong meanings have been coming out. Please read on...

Kabir Dohe on being Vegetarian and Consuming Alcohol

Meat may be from a cow, deer or a chicken, those who consume meat are destined to hell. Those who eat meat unknowingly (e.g. unknowingly one consumed meat at their relatives place because of not being told or considering it to be a vegetable) they do not incur sin but in future they must remain very vigilant. Those who knowingly consume meat incur sin. This meat is dog food and is prohibited for a human being.

Those who take initiation from Gurus which consume meat and alcohol never achieve salvation, instead are destined to deep hell.

Those who commit violence towards animals (whether they kill a cow, pig, goat, chicken, man because of their selfish interest) are heinously sinful people (whether they have taken initiation from a complete guru). They can never achieve salvation.

If someone after consuming even a speck of meat donates crores of cows, then also his worship is useless. Even if a meat eater gets his neck severed in Kashi, then also he is destined to hell.

A goat that you have killed was eating grass and satisfying her hunger. In this Kaal lok, a vegetarian animal got killed, then those who eat the meat of a goat, they will incur even a greater suffering than that.

Kabir Sahib asks a Mullah, when did you receive the order of compassionate God about killing an animal by halal and then eating and distributing the meat to others.

When a son of a Qazi (Muslim Priest) dies, then that Qazi suffers a lot. That Supreme God (Allah Kabir) is father of all. Allah is never pleased by those who kill His beings.

Everyone experiences the same type of pain. Ignorants do not know. If you send a goat etc. to heaven by killing an animal by halal, then why don't Mullah's and Qazi achieve heaven by cutting their necks by doing halal.

Superior most food is khichri (dish made from rice and lentils with salt), eat that. One who cuts someone elses neck has to pay back. On knowing this a learned person doesn't cut his own neck. The flag bearers of both the religions have become uncompassionate. Hindu's Gurus say that we kill an animal in an instant which doesn't cause any suffering to an animal that is why we are not incurring sin. The leaders of Muslim religion say that we kill an animal slowly by halal as a result of which we don't incur sin. God Kabir Sahib questioned, how would you feel if your neck of neck of one of your relatives is cut by any means?

A saint without compassion is a butcher.

How was the Temple i.e. Dhaam of Shri Jagannaath Ji Built in Puri?

How was the Temple i.e. Dhaam of Shri Jagannaath Ji Built in Puri?

Source: www.kabirsahib.jagatgururampalji.org/jagannaath.html

In Orissa state, there was a king named Indradaman. He was exclusively devoted to God Shri Krishna Ji. One night Shri Krishna appeared in king’s dream and said that get a temple of mine built by name Jagannaath. Shri Krishna Ji also said that idol-worship is not to be done in this temple. Only a saint has to be left in it who should impart knowledge according to Holy Gita to the visitors. He also showed the place on the seashore where the temple had to be built. On waking up in the morning King Indradaman told his wife that last night I saw God Krishna Ji. He has instructed to build a temple. The queen said, “Why delay an auspicious task? The entire wealth has been given by him only. Why think in offering it to him?” The king got the temple built in that place which Shri Krishna Ji had shown on the seashore in the dream. After the temple was built, a cyclone arose and demolished the temple. Not even a trace was left that there was a temple here. Like this, the king got the temple built five times. On all five occasions, the sea demolished it.

Being disappointed, the king decided not to build any temple. He thought that God knows which birth’s revenge the sea is taking from me. The treasury became empty; the temple did not get built. After sometime, Purna Parmeshwar (KavirDev/God Kabir) according to the promise made to Jyoti Niranjan (Kaal) came to King Indradaman and said to the King, “You get the temple constructed. This time the sea will not demolish the temple (palace).” The King said, “Saint Ji, I do not believe it. I have been getting the temple constructed by the order of God Shri Krishna (Vishnu) Ji. Shri Krishna has not been able to stop the sea. I have got the temple built five times thinking this that God might be testing me. But now I am not even worthy of giving a test because even the treasury has become empty. Now I am not capable of getting the temple built.” Parmeshwar said, “Indradaman, the Parmeshwar who has created all the brahmands, only He is capable of doing everything; not other gods. I have the ‘word’ power of that Parmeshwar. I can stop the sea (hiding himself, was telling the truth).” The king said, “Saint Ji, I can not accept that there is some other God more powerful than Shri Krishna Ji.

God Kabir Ji (Kavir Dev) gave Satnaam to Guru Nanak Dev Ji and showed him Satlok (Sachkhand)
Source: www.jagatgururampalji.org

Shri Nanak Dev Ji previously used to do jaap of one Omkaar (Om') mantra and only considering it to be true used to say ‘Ek Omkaar’. Kabir Sahib appeared before Shri Nanak Dev Ji on the bank of river Bein and took him to Satlok (Sachkhand) and showed him His SatPurush form and then on the third day left him back on the Earth. After that Shri Nanak Ji eulogised the eye-witnessed glory of God Kabir, which is present in his sacred speech in Shri Guru Granth Sahib in Mehla Pehla. Only after God Kabir gave Shri Nanak Ji jaap of Satnaam, Shri Nanak Ji got liberated from Kaal’s lok.

Rag “Siri” Mehla 1, page no 24, Shabd no.29

Ek suaan duii suaani naal, bhalke bhaunkahi sadaa biaal
Kud chhura mutha murdaar, Dhaanak roop raha Kartaar
h bigdae roop raha bikraal
Tera ek naam tare sansaar, main
eha aas eho aadhaar
Mukh ninda aakha din raat, par ghar johi neech manaati
Kaam krodh tan vasah chandaal, Dhaanak roop raha kartaar
Faahi surat malooki ves, uh thagvaada thagi des
Kharaa siaana bahuta bhaar, Dhaanak roop raha Kartaar
Main keeta na jaata huraamkh
or, uh kia muh desa dusht chor
Nanak neech kah bichaar, Dhaanak roop raha Kartaar

It has been clearly written in this that one dog (in the form of mind) and along with these two bitches (in the form of expectations and desires) are always unnecessarily barking (i.e. desires keep on arising) and new-new expectations keep arising all the time. The method (without Satnaam) of killing them was a false (kud) means (muth murdaar). God (Kabir Sahib) met me in the form of a weaver (dhaanak). He told me the correct way of worship.

Shri Nanak Sahib Ji says that without the sadhna of that God (Dhaanak / weaver Kabir Sahib) neither there would have been any reputation (pati) nor there was any good deed (good earning) being done. Consequently, the terrible form of Kaal which I have perceived now, Kabir Sahib, from that only your one (Satnaam) naam can convey the whole world across (can extricate from Kaal’s lok). Even I (Nanak Ji says) am only hopeful of your this naam, and only this naam is my base. Earlier I must have also criticised you a lot out of ignorance because lust and anger, these devils live in this body.

The God in the form of a (dhaanak) weaver (Kabir Sahib who used to work as a weaver) came and showed me the true path and released me from Kaal. His (surati) appearance is very pleasing and charming and is in beautiful attire (in form of Jinda). He met me; nobody can recognise Him, who even befooled Kaal i.e. He appears to be a dhaanak (weaver) and then became Jinda. Even Kaal God became confused that this is someone of a low caste; he can not be God (Purna Brahm). In this way, Kabir Sahib hiding his real form comes as a servant. Kaal or an ordinary person cannot recognise Him. Therefore, Shri Nanak Sahib Ji has called him a thug (imposter) and along with this has said that Dhaanak (weaver Kabir Sahib) is very intelligent. Appears to be something else, but is very magnificent (bahuta bhaar), the God Purna Brahm who has Himself come in the form of a weaver, a dhaanak. To instruct every human being on submissiveness, accepting his mistake says that I (Nanak Ji) argued with Purna Brahm and He (Kabir Sahib) also presented Himself (acting) as a servant and addressed me (Nanak Ji) as Master. Therefore highlighting His greatness and repenting on his ignorance Shri Nanak Ji says that I (Nanak Ji) was not even worthy of doing and getting anything done. Even then considering my sadhna to be superior, confronted (debated on knowledge) God. Who can be as low, wicked and good-for-nothing like me, who could not recognise his Lord-Master Purna Parmatma in a dhaanak form (Supreme God Kabir Sahib who came as a weaver)? Shri Nanak Sahib Ji states that I am saying all this with full consideration that the Supreme God is in the form of a dhaanak (Weaver Kabir).

Meaning:

Oh Creator, the Master, the unqualified Saint, kind “Sat Kabir” (Eternal Kabir), You are flawless God. There is a request before you from the heart that of Beloved, this residence of world is destructible. I have realised this completely. Oh benefactor, on death of this living being, a messenger of Yam named Ajrail, capturing mercilessly takes him away. No companion like, son, father, relative gives company. In the end, all the schemes, obligations, and rituals/actions are of no use. Everyday, evil thoughts like non-stop blowing wind keep patrolling. I did not get any means of doing meritorious acts. In such a bad time, Kaliyug, the ignorant and careless like us, because of not having knowledge of the true path, were blind and dumb. Nanak, the dust of the feet of the servant of your servants, the drowning man got across.
